Grand Canyon Railway RV Park

Show Low Lake

Nestled in the White Mountains at an elevation of near 6,500 feet, Show Low Lake is a sanctuary from the summer heat. The park covers cool wooded forest land. Adjacent to Show Low Lake is Show Low Lake Campground, a 75 site campground with some electric sites, dump station, shower facility, and small convenient store. The store rents boats, sells fishing licenses, bait, tackle, drinks and snacks. The campground also offers a playground, day use ramadas and group camping.

Location: 6 miles south of Show Low, Located right behind Walmart Off Route 260.

Houston Mesa Campground

Just north of Payson, Houston Mesa Campground has most of the facilities one would want when camping close to a city. Houston Mesa has pretty much everything but electricity. Showers are available and coin operated for $1.00 per shower. There is an amphitheater and a 1/2 mile interpretetive trail that is self guided. For those with RV's, there is a dump station on site. Just across the road is Houston Mesa Horse Camp with large group sites. and a nine mile horse loop. Payson lies just to the south and offers restaurants, nightlife, groceries and sporting goods stores among other things.

Location: From Payson, head north on State Highway 87 to Houston Mesa Road (F.R. 199). Turn right and the campground is 1/10 of a mile on your left.
